The 1932 Criterion Theatre exists to serve the community as a beacon of the arts on MDI and the surrounding area.

Our beautiful theatre has survived through the years due to the generosity of our donors, members, and patrons. 2023 CRITERION THEATRE PROGRAMS:

 
  • The Arts Alive Program at the Criterion Theatre aims to engage young people in the arts and building a love for theatre, music and performance.

  • The Emerging Artists Program exists to help promote local and upcoming artists, as well as give them a space to share their talents with the community.

  • The Criterion Theatre’s Conversation Starters program will get the community engaged and help facilitate new learning, new thoughts and promote new conversation.

  • LIVE At the Criterion is just as it sounds! We will continue to find the best, most exciting and engaging bands and national acts that exist, so you always have a place to create new experiences with your family and friends, seeing all the bands you love.
