Tanglewood Marionettes' Sleeping Beauty

The master puppeteers of Tanglewood Marionettes founded the group in 1993 and have performed nationally, winning awards for their craft. Sleeping Beauty portrays the familiar tale of Princess Aurora; whose birthday celebration goes awry when the wicked witch arrives and places a curse on her. In this retelling, a painted story book opens to reveal each scene, and beautifully hand-crafted marionettes are brought to life as the dramatic events unfold.

On Sunday, July 1st at 10 a.m. the company will host a workshop in the fine art of marionette manipulation. Participants will experience firsthand what it is like to work a professional-quality marionette that has been balanced and tuned like a fine instrument. This class is recommended for ages 8 and up. Please call 207-288-0829 or email zachary@criteriontheatre.org for more details.
