Criterion Closes for Two Days as it Enters Final Phase of Elevator Installation

(Bar Harbor, Maine)-- The 1932 Criterion Theatre will close on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2 in order to to facilitate and complete the major power swap for the final phase of the elevator installation. When completed, the elevator will make the upstairs loge accessible to all patrons.

“We look forward to the completion of the elevator so that all of our patrons will now be able to enjoy our balcony seating,” said board member Steven Boucher.

The Criterion will return to being open seven days a week on Sunday, September 3 with the movie Wind River playing through September 14. Upcoming acts include Los Lobos on September 15, Spencer Albee on September 22, Mountainfilm On Tour on September 30 and Robert Cray on October 3.
